When we are not Swimming we are operating our Amateur Radio Stations - fixed, mobile or handheld; either bounching electrons off the F-Layers or into the Ether via IRLP or EchoLink (Node 9543).

Fred Jacobowitz holds an Advanced Class Amateur Radio License (KE2QR) and is also the Trustee for the Swim & Stay Fit Amateur Radio Club (WS2SF).

I was first licensed in 1967 as WN2BQG and in March '68 I became WA2BQG.  Somewhere along the line holders of the "Advanced Class" became eligible for a 2x2 call.  I was also hoping to lose that "Q".
I am a member of the ARRL, LIMARC and frequent the WB2HWW and N2ION repeaters.
By the way, _--_-   -_-  does not stand for, "Do not resusitate," ---- --
I also check into the 3905 Century Club.  This is a list directed WAS and DX Net

My current HF rig is an Icom 706 MIIG that I control from my computer (XP) using TRX-Manager - it gets the gold star for both its versatility and the support from its author Laurent.  I am also using a W1GEE LCU-3 transceiver-to-computer interface.  Another great piece of equipment is the ULI Board that has let me operate many digital modes and an EchoLink station.  My base station also has an ICOM 208H for vhf/ufh and a Ten-Tec RX320 (thank you David).  My Yeasu FT-60r and FT-7800 installed in my 1990 Lincoln keep me in contact on the go!

Let us not forget WBFO 88.7 operating from SUNY Buffalo and WIRR - a carrier-current AM station that ran through the dormitories on Main Street.
